From 1-3 August 2023,The Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs organized and
held the national Youth Form in Armenia. About 600 representatives of Armenian youth, aged 18-35
years from more than 50 countries of the world took part in the three-day conference, was helding
under the slogan "From youth, to youth". Young participants represented social,
educational and cultural communities. One hundred speakers from more than is countries were also
invited to the conference.
The purpose of the conference was to attract young people to participate in the development of
Armenia, as well as to unite and expand opportunities for communication and interaction with each
other in the development of the country`s public life.
The topics on the conference agenda were directly related to the role of youth in contact with the
interests of Armenia. Another important topic for discuss is the defense and national security of the
country. This topic is developing among the youth, and it is very important to know about the
opinion and to get suggestions on this issue. The next important aspect is the direction of movement
of science and education, interpersonal relationships and interaction, as well as a discussion of the
criteria for the technical program of Armenia, which have trends in its development. The final part of
the conference was devoted to the topic of repatriation. There was a discussion about the meaning
of the word “Motherland” in its full understanding. “Armenia is our home” is the slogan of this part
of the conference. The constant use of the word “Home” is directly related to the meaning of the
word “Motherland”, for all those who live far from Armenia.
The participants Hagop Makdis,the executive director of the “Karo Hovagimian Charitable” foundation, Margarita Baghdasaryan, Head of Programs of the Repatriaton and Integration Center of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Vardan Marashlyan, President and Co-founder of the “ Repat Armenia” foundation, Arusik Zeynalyan “Gradarak Libraries” NGO Hayk Bagradyants, Co-founder and executive director of founder and executive director of “Oqni” NGO and architect Shane Simonyan of “ Zanazan” studio talked during the Conference. The conference was concluded, with community, regional ties bulding and cultural events.
