On June 3, the graduation event of the graduates of the 2022-2023 academic year of the "ISD" Dental School was held in the banquet hall of the "Yeraz" restaurant. The event started with a minute's silence to honor the memory of Karo Hovagimian, the martyred hero of the 44-day Artsakh war. Let's remind that earlier in the "ISD" Dental School, an auditorium named after Karo was opened with an official ceremony, where a number of training courses for young dentists are held to this day. The executive director of “Karo Hovagimian" charitable foundation Hagop Makdis was also invited to participate in the graduation event. Latter at the "ISD" Dental School were held a series of lectures on "Communication Skills and Feedback", "The Potential of Negotiation Skills", "Cultural Intelligence and Leadership" from March 16-30.
During the lectures, the foundations of effective doctor-patient communication, the need to actively listen, sympathize, and empathize with the patient were discussed in order to gain trust and justify expectations. The students got acquainted with the aspects of non-verbal communication, the importance of mastering body language and sign language not only in the professional field, but also in everyday life. The importance of having means of feedback was also emphasized, in terms of evaluating patient satisfaction and improving the doctor's qualification. The differences between the terms cultural and emotional intelligence were clearly defined, and their high indicators were emphasized during the professional activity of a dentist in order to gain the trust of the patient, to find the basis for mutual understanding and healthy communication.
